ArtPrize artist Mary Rouleau's sensitivity to the human figure is both beautiful and meaningful
Marianna Heule invites viewers to share her connection to the rural landscape. She gently captures fleeting moments of farm life, complete with livestock, harvesting, and daily labor. Her work speaks to the familiar - weathered paint on a century-old barn, a sheep’s nubby wool coat, or tall field grasses swaying in the breeze under a summer sun. Heule’s radiant depictions are warmly nostalgic. Her pastel strokes evoke the very texture of her chosen subjects that the viewer can visually touch.
“I want people to respond to the emotional value that I put into my subjects and paintings," explains Marianna. "When I paint, I feel joy. I hope that others can feel that too when they see my paintings”
Marianna Heule works as a full-time professional artist. She attended the Scottsdale Artist School in Scottsdale, Arizona. Heule is a member of the Great Lakes Pastel Society and the Portrait Society of America. She has won many awards and honors in regional exhibitions and has taught numerous workshops in oil and pastel.
