Calling All Kids: Bring Your Creativity and Your Parents
LaFontsee Galleries begin the New Year with an exhibition guaranteed to inspire adult and child alike.
“Children Make Art for Children” opens 19 February at LaFontsee Galleries with a reception from 5:00 to 8:30, and features an array of colorful, imaginative artwork created by local kids for the new Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital.
The reception is an ideal event for the whole family to attend. Children are encouraged to discover artwork in fun, new ways and to express their inventive ideas, crafting their own art piece as part of a collaborative paper project. Tasty finger-foods will be readily available to recharge creative juices or to relax and enjoy while wandering about the gallery.
Children and their families are invited to participate in the growing artistic collaboration with LaFontsee Galleries and Spectrum Health, and which already includes contributions from organizations such as Very Special Arts, Cook Arts Center, Alward Elementary School, as well as artwork completed on Family Day at Celebration on the Grand last summer.
